Our theme this month is back to school! Jax is still a couple of years off from starting pre-school, and honestly he doesn't know what school is! Haha! But he does LOVE to read books! So I thought we would make a couple of bookmarks! One for him and one to give away! I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he told me he wanted to sit on the moon! I'll be honest - I laughed! He said it so seriously! I pulled out a Junkiefest exclusive stamp set from Beth Duff Designs called Over the Moon, It's perfect for his wish to sit on the moon!

He used the MISTI to position and stamp all of the images onto watercolor paper and then watercolored them. The first panel he made was so pretty that I couldn't entertain the thought of cutting out the images to put on a bookmark - but he was more than happy to color a second page of images!

I used the Shaker Tag Dies from Craftin Desert Divas with some creative die cutting to make bookmarks longer than the die was intended to cut. I used two of the fancy edges to make the tops of the bookmarks more interesting. Then I stamped and embossed a sentiment and more images all over the bookmarks. I did some Distress Ink smooshing to add some greens and blues (blue is his favorite color!) to the backgrounds and added his painted images on top! Check out the photos below to see a bit of the process!
